Friday is now Freestyle
In July 2026, Friday — the AI email assistant for Gmail — became Freestyle. Same product, same team, same mission: an inbox that handles itself. Just a new name.
What changed
The name
Friday is now Freestyle. You may also have known us as fridaymail or Friday AI — those all refer to the same company, Friday, Inc.
The website
Our home is now freestyle.ai. Links to our old domains redirect here.
The look
New logo, new branding, and social handles moving to the Freestyle name.
What didn't change
The product
The same Chrome extension for Gmail — AI drafts in your voice, meeting scheduling, bulk unsubscribe, and natural-language inbox search.
Your account
Your login, rules, automations, and billing all carry over. There is nothing you need to do.
The team and backing
Still built by the same team in San Francisco, and still backed by Y Combinator.
Security and privacy
The same Google-reviewed permissions and the same commitments: your emails are never stored and never used to train AI models.

Common questions
Is Friday shutting down?
No. Friday changed its name to Freestyle — the product, team, and company are all the same and still active. Nothing about the service is going away.
Do I need to reinstall the extension?
No. The Chrome extension updates automatically, and your account, rules, and automations carry over unchanged.
Why the rename?
Freestyle better captures what the product does: it takes the structure and busywork out of email so you can move through your inbox freely. The Friday name served us well, but Freestyle is the name we are building the future of email under.
